Experience_________________________________________________________________________
7/2013 - 10/2013 Banking/Investment NY City
Collabera for Bank of America RPG Programmer/Analyst
Assisted Bank of America with rewrite and support of AIM (Associate Investment Management) software written in RPG/SQL.. The AS400 is the backend for a web based application that allows B of A to monitor all investment activity of associates and their close acquaintances. Working with very large files, their software incorporated triggers, commitment control, and journaling to help maintain integrity. I worked extensively with data transfer to and from Excel, ODBC SQL, embedded SQL, null and CLOB data, DDM files, and SQL sequences.
7/2013 - 10/2013 Online Skill Assessment Remote
Prometric (Brain Bench) Test Cleaner
Because of the score I achieved in beta testing, Prometric recruited me to help them finalize their RPG ILE skill test. I verified answers and sample code, suggested improvements, incorporated beta tester comments, and adjusted question skill level.
2/2013 - 5/2013 Retail Parsippany, NJ
Action Technical Personnel for Tiffany & Co. RPG Programmer/Analyst
Recruited to assist Tiffany with PCI tokenization process on the IBM AS400. Using RPG and CLLE credit card numbers were replaced in all files with a token retrieved from a hardened iSeries. The tokens were replaced with unencrypted credit card numbers only during transfer to the bank. I automated the entire process, creating generic parameter and file driven code so that any future changes can now be accomplished without code change.
1/2011 - 5/14/2012 |
Health Care Insurance Technical Lead |
Somerset,NJ |
| CVS Caremark is engaged in the process of integrating their 3 acquired companies, Aetna, ReCap, and Quantum Leap with their existing RxClaim software on the AS400. I Led teams of developers, BA’s, and QA testers in projects designed to identify and remedy any applications that were needed but not present in RxClaim. I was responsible for creating highly detailed design documents which included flow charts, pseudo code, data base changes, object lists, and impact analysis. It was my responsibility to meet with the client to discuss methods, demonstrate deliverables, and gain approvals. In addition, I often worked with other vendors to coordinate data transfer and Enterprise testing. I was solely responsible for implementation support on each of my projects. On my own time I created the document which became the company standard for client best practices, and as a result was recruited to train other Galaxe developers on the use of Aldon change management software and the CVS project life cycle as well as RPGIV, ILE, AS400 Query, and basic AS400 commands. | ||
| 7/2010 – 10/2010 IDB Bank |
Banking Programmer/Analyst |
New York, NY |
| Assisted IDB in the automation of daily operations tasks so that the AS400 box could be moved to a remote location, and operations staff could be reduced. | ||
| 02/2000 – 01/2010 Dow Jones LMG |
Publishing Systems Analyst |
Campbell Hall, NY |
| I provided 24/7 technical support for Circulation and Advertising applications, financial interfaces, and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word for 3 newspaper sites. I’m well versed in Remedy software for incident reporting and documentation. In addition I designed, developed, maintained and supported Circulation and Advertising billing applications written in-house in RPGII, RPGIII, and Cobol. All new development was in RPG ILE, RPGIV, and RPG Free. Most projects involved coordination with outside vendors and end users to define requirements, find solutions, and test applications. In addition I taught an AS400 query class which allowed newspaper managers to build their own reports, freeing up the support reps for other tasks. When LMG decided to downsize I participated in the conversion of data to packaged software, writing numerous programs to transfer the data to the new files and fields. I learned the new Advertising applications and trained end users to enter and maintain ads. | ||
| 6/1995 - 4/1998 Mobile Fabrics |

I created a new intake application for entering the initial case information, as well as numerous programs for filing standard forms such as no-fault applications, and requesting information from police, doctors, employers, witnesses, etc. In addition, I assisted in the creation and coding of a case management application. Thru this screen paralegals, secretaries, and attorneys were able to initiate, maintain, track, and schedule the necessary procedures and actions for each case. Every course of action was displayed, along with responses received, deadline dates, actions scheduled, contact names, notes, etc. | ||

Newburgh, NY |
| I was directly responsible for the development of a Payroll module in RPG400 including back-up and recovery procedures written in CLP. The project began with a design document detailing best practices and design standards. The application included a soft menu system with authority controls for each option, the ability to create custom deductions and taxes, and to easily modify tax tables. In addition I incorporated window lookup functions which did not exist as DDS keywords on the AS400 until several years later. I gained experience in all stages of software development from documentation of best practices to implementation and user documentation. | ||
| 5/1987 – 3/1989 Spence Engineering |
